Midlife crisis....depending

I cut my hair during the weekend. Many would ask why. I like to think I'm going through my midlife crisis. Having my locks chopped off is cheaper than buying a motorbike and less complicated than an affair. Less injuries and tears.

Fatness mortifications

These are some of the things that make me want to continue exercising. Some people may choose to call them motivations. It's really a matter of opinion in my mind.

1) People telling me, "Why do you need to exercise? You look good........for a mother of three." I look around and agree that there are mothers who are in worse shape than me but there are also others who look really good. Refer to mortification number 2 for what some people call an explanation for this phenomenon.

2) "It's the genes lah!". So I'm going to try to fight against the forces of nature. Cannot resist a good challenge.

3) Mr Chubby from office, upon witnessing my snacks of fruits and vegetables, goes "I see how long you can tahan (endure).....". Good grief.

4) Gabriel's claim that I am getting more and more like Chen Liping. Local artiste popular for her auntie roles. See below.

5) Hubby's response to Gabriel's comment, "Auntie, auntie lor". Translation: never mind lah it's ok to be fat.

6) When a colleague says "Aero Lo (referring to low impact aerobics which I want to do) is for old ladies.

7) When the boys' favourite phrase is "Mummy's backside can shaaaaake! Bwahahaha". Ultimate.

Journey to fitness takes off

After signing up for the 5km charity run/walk organized by my company, I've been doing some exercises intermittently. This is an attempt to regain my fitness and improve my health. I found my efforts pretty appalling due to lack of discipline. Besides I still want to enjoy my char kway teow and "orh luak" (fried oyster omelette). So I decided to up the notch a bit and join a fitness club.

I signed up with Amore Fitness. I went for my complimentary class today. It was Pilates Basic. Boy was the name misleading....to me. I definitely suffered. Not as bad as I thought I would have but still enough to feel my legs and arms turn to jelly. I did a 10 minute walk before the class to warm up and thought of doing another brisk walk after the class but I relinquished the thought immediately after the class.

It's Aero Lo on Friday....looking forward to it.

I hope I can sustain this journey towards my fitness. Wish me luck!

Photos with the iPhone

I try to take photos with my iPhone and edit them nowadays. There are so many apps which I'm sure a lot of people are already familiar with. I'm a bit of a slack when it comes to technology. My first attempt to make a photo look old turned out quite nicely though. It wouldn't have been much of a disaster considering the fact that all I had to do was press a few icons within the app.
I did one with a group photo with friends. That turned out nice but I don't think it will get published here. Sorry guys, still trying to be anonymous here.
